What spurred you to become a Virtual Assistant?
For me, I was unfulfilled and unhappy working the 9-5 grind, and felt I needed to do something. I knew that I had some really good skills to offer from the experiences I’ve gained in the corporate world over the last 20+ years, plus I needed to be challenged, and what could be more challenging that starting your own business!.
There are so many facets to running a successful business. You not only need to be skilled and knowledgeable in the services you offer, but you also need to be well versed in areas of the law, taxation, accounting, marketing, and so much more. At the same time, it is all these multitude of challenges that is what makes it all the more rewarding; to see our business grow, meet new people (client and peers) that are appreciative and supportive, to succeed!
Of course, there are other perks to working out of a home office. Top on my list would be no commute time, lower gas prices, more time for family, to name a few. We should also not ignore the cons of working out of your home office. It is SO easy to work round the clock if you allow yourself to. If you’re thinking of starting a VA business or just started one, word of advice, start developing a good habit of setting schedules for work and breaks and stick to them!
The birth of this blog is to create a place where virtual assistant’s can discuss their trial and tribulations, success stories, struggles, offer advice and give support to one another. Tell us your story and why you decided to become a VA.
Virtually yours,

I decided to pursue a career as a VA because I wanted to stay home with my two boys. They are 1 and 2 1/2 and I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom. As time went on I felt the urge to return to the workforce. Becoming a VA is a happy medium. I can do the work I enjoy doing and still stay at home and watch my boys grow.
